Z is a big fan of the EF86 pre-amp tube and this time it is being utilized as the tone stack tube instead of the first stage like on the Route 66/Z28/KT45/Delta88. This gives the tone controls a very musical sweep designed to dial in "Active EQ" tonal variances without losing the sweetness of passive controls. Clean or dirty, this amp provides "Ultra boutique" tones reminiscent of Trainwrecks, Dumbles and Brunos, without the price tag.

This is loaded with a Celestion Gold speaker giving you the great sound a Blue evolves into over time, but the Gold delivers it right from the start - really warm with the quality of an Alnico driver, with strong midrange and highs.
