Blazer & Henkes Acoustic Guitars - PhoenixMPN: Phoenix This is one I the finest prewar style guitars we have ever seen. Rudy Blazer and Willi Henkes are world-class builders, restoration experts and collectors of the greatest of American acoustic guitars. Their shop in Tubengen, Germany is where they build a relatively small number of guitars each year. Most are sold in Europe, but I am happy to say that Mass Street Music has been fortunate enough to be able to present a few of these guitars. This guitar has the look, feel and sound that one would associate with a mid 30's D28. Special attention has been paid to every detail of the earlier guitars. The guitar is built with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and an Alpine Spruce top. Alpine spruce is very similar Adirondak spruce, a wood that is local for these builders, allowing them to pick from the best of the best. Blazer and Henkes believe the early guitars have proved to be of the highest levels of sound and craftsmanship. I feel that they have succeeded in creating a new guitar that stands up to the fine guitars of the 1930's. Truly a great guitar. Includes Calton case.
