As expected this 000-40 style guitar is stunning in all ways. Based on the design of the late '20s - early '30s Martin 00-40 Hawaiian, but built on the popular 000 body shape, this guitar captures some of the best aesthetic and acoustic qualities available. The 000, 12 fret shape has always been a favorite for the discerning finger style guitarist. This shape combined with very fine Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and beautiful Alpine Spruce top(very similar to Adirondack) results in a guitar that is rich and full, very balanced and has a tonal sustain that is unequaled. It is as delightful to look at as it is to play. The 40 style Abalone around the top adds just enough spark to draw your eye to the beautiful materials and expert craftsmanship, but still invites you to pick it up and play it. The attention to detail does not stop with the wood. The tuners are three on an plate, open gear, with a tasteful engraving on the plate. They are nearly identical to the tuners found on early guitars. BLAZER and HENKES guitars are hand made in Tuebengen, Germany. The two builders and restorers are known for their depth of knowledge of the finest of American vintage acoustic guitars and their passion for producing new guitars with respect to the important aspects of the early treasures. Due to the very small production, we only receive 3-4 guitars per year, but we feel that they are very significant in the world of modern makers and are thrilled to be able to include them in our inventory.
