The Flynns - Much More Than This CDMPN: FL001 Our own owner, general manager and former Waterdeep guitarist John Flynn releases his band, The Flynns' latest, Much More Than This CD. In 1987 John and Jami Flynn got married and the two have been playing music together ever since. They've gone through several wardrobe changes (the tight leather pants have sadly disappeared), several wild hair styles, and many band members. But in 1991, John and Jami finally managed to find a permanent drummer...they gave birth to him. Their multi-instrumentalist son Isaac occupies the drumming duties, and he has been playing with them since the age of twelve. Isaac also plays in the bands Lawrence Letterday and Newmatica, and together, he and John co-produced this latest record entitled Much More Than This. The Flynns' hard to define style melds a hint of Tom Petty meets Linda Thompson-like Americana rock with intelligent lyrics, inspired by the book of Psalms, and others drawn from the Flynns' personal reflections of their faith. Originally to be released for a sermon series on the Psalms at Vintage Church in Lawrence, Kansas, where the Flynn's lead worship, it ended up turning into something much bigger.
