This is a very nice example of the the desirable 1944 Gibson J-45 "Only A Gibson Is Good Enough" Banner guitars. The sound is Big with a capital B! Very fun to play and great action. Neck is on the large size, as is normal for J-45s of this period. The inked serial number only shows three digits - 585 - but from various characteristics we've conclude this is definitely a 1944. There are two tiny repaired holes behind the bridge where some sort of pickup may have been, or maybe a name plaque. There's crack between the pickguard and C bout, and a similar crack in the back -all issues have been beautifully repaired and do not detract from the appearance. The original finish is in excellent condition with medium finish checking. All around, this is a very nice example in Very Good Plus condition. Modern hardshell case included. $6,895.
