"This new Tom Anderson Mongrel made me do a double take! Tele-ish...Strat-ish... All I do know is that it's saweeet...in so many ways! This bridge position is mean, yet very clear. The combination of an Alder body with a humbucker in the bridge is nice and aggressive without too much edge. The tone knob taps the bridge and gives a nice, crisp spank. Of course, the single coils chosen for this model sing like a bird. The 1 11/16" nut width makes it easy to get around around the 1st through 5th frets. We sold the very first Mongrel and this one is just as sweet. It plays just like its finish...like butter (scotch!). It's super resonant, a perfect weight at 7 pounds, 1 ounce, and it's loaded with Anderson's own SC1, SC2 and HC2 pickups - two hum-canceling single coils (the vintage inspired SC1 and the hotter SC2), plus the HC2 with its medium-hot output, vintage flavor with muscular mids and lush highs. The body is Alder, a really sleek shape, with a hard rock Maple neck (.030 inch over) and 1 11/16" nutwidth. This has a Chrome Vintage Tremolo and locking tuners. This has 5-way controls with add bridge, and VA Boost. The trans butterscotch finish is simply perfect. This Tom Anderson Mongrel comes with a hard case and strap.
