This Germino Classic 45 LV 112 Combo is the latest masterpiece from Greg's mad lab and I must say...it's won me over. There is something magical about this 1x12 combo format, just like the Club 40 1x12 we had. Greg has changed things up right out of the gate on this particular amp, opting for a pair of 6L6 power tubes instead of KT-66s. Another point of interest is the speaker chosen. This guy has a G12H30 instead of a Greenback. All of these things combined make this amp extremely versatile! The 6L6s offer more of a throatier, almost Fender-ish richness and clarity. Neck pickup on a Strat sounds very full with a ton of bloom! The G12H30 also brings more presence and bite to the table. I'm convinced that this amp would shine in pretty much any setting. Humbuckers through this amp remain tough, with that classic Marshall womp you'd expect, but there is a nice amount of chime and bloom that makes you think of American based amps.
