Martin Acoustic Guitars - 1964 D-28 BrazilianMPN: D28 Though it's certainly seen some rough times, this vintage 1964 Martin D-28 Brazilian sounds fantastic and is a great player. With very nice, straight-grained Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, it has an exceptionally rich, balanced tone that sings. It sounds so good you'll never want to put it down. Structurally, this guitar has no back cracks. It does have a 3-inch, tight crack in the treble upper bout that has been cleated, as well as a headstock crack which is not a structural issue (see photos). The fretboard extension was separated during a former neck reset, and despite it playing very well, it could use another neck reset for optimal playability. There are a few top cracks that have been patched and repaired. Much of the top has been over-sprayed, including a small pick worn area near the treble foot of the bridge that has been sealed over. It also looks as if some sort of sticker/letters were put below the pickguard, causing discoloration. There are very minor splits in the fingerboard just above the soundhole, and in the bridge between the A and G bridge pins. There is also a small amount of finish wear beneath the strap button. This 1964 Martin D-28 Brazilian has a good amount of play wear, but also the sound that goes with a vintage Brazilian - powerful, full-bodied, and balanced. Comes with a modern hard case. Serial #195834. $4,400. Consignment item. Sorry, shipping not included. USED View all Martin Acoustic Guitars |
