Blazer & Henkes Acoustic Guitars - D-28 BurstMPN: BHD28506 This Blazer and Henkes D-28 Burst has beautiful shading on the Alpine Spruce top. This wood was specifically selected, cut, cured and made ready by Blazer and Henkes and is quite similar to American Adirondack Spruce in looks and sound. The back and sides on this are an outstanding select Rosewood. Both top and back/sides have a wonderful traditional nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Rudie Blazer and Willi Henkes' ability to build spectacular guitars truly reminiscent of pre-war Golden Eras comes from their years of careful study of vintage instruments - which is how our pre-war collecting owner Jim Baggett met these gentlemen years ago. The B & H guitars have that certain pre-war warmth and true balance, and this D-28 is a shining example. The dimensions of this guitar are very similar to a 1937 Martin D-28. The neck width is 1 3/4" at the nut, 2 1/4" at the 14th fret with a bridge pin spacing of 2 5/16". The neck profile is very similar to the average 1937 dreadnaught and would be perfect for those who like that style of neck. The fit and finish here are impeccable. Hide glue is used throughout and the neck is reinforced but not adjustable. Includes hard shell case. $14,500.
