Mossman Acoustic Guitars - Great Plains

MPN:

This 1973 Mossman Great Plains acoustic is a great example of an early Mossman, and specifically designed for flatpicking. These were made right here in Kansas for years, with the original output of Stuart Mossman's work ending at about 7,000 guitars total before the company changed hands and eventually relocated to Sulphur Springs, Texas where they currently make guitars. From Dan Crary and Emmylou Harris to John Denver and Merle Travis, many artists have chosen the great sound and exceptional build of these original Mossmans.

This '73 has been very nicely refinished and the top is signed by Chris Biggs, a local Kansas flatpicker who placed third at Winfield one year with this guitar. The guitar is in Very Good condition with one tight and repaired side crack and one very minor tight crack at the edge of the soundhole and fingerboard (see photos). The guitar has a great neck angle, a nice straight neck and great saddle height. The sound here is bright and clear. Non original hard case included. Serial# 73-274. $1,500. em>Consignment item, sorry shipping not included.
