Widely considered one of the best sounding amps of all time, this classic circuit has been re-issued and copied by many, but rarely do they nail the vibe and 3D quality of a well broken-in vintage example. Of course, many old examples vary so much, it's hard to get an exact replica, but man did Aaron Wright nail the synergetic vibe of the very best classic examples. Aaron starts with custom hand wound trannies made to the original specs, but with much better reliability and hand wires the chassis with vintage correct cloth wiring. The cabinets are beautifully crafted of solid pine and loaded with Weber Alnico speakers. Of course, on paper, this sounds fine and dandy, but the proof is in the pudding...How do they sound? Well, we not only simply just like the way they sound and feel, but we had a chance to AB this amp with a recently restored 1960 example and actually liked Wright's amp better and it had a punch that the original lacked. The vibe is all there on this stellar repro, great clean tones at low volumes, perfect for funk and blues rhythm tracks. And an incredibly rich and throaty overdrive when opened up. As with all tweed circuits, the controls are highly interactive, so there are a lot of "hidden" tones to hunt down. Comes with a custom nylon padded cover from J&L.
