We consistently sell out of the Xotic AC Booster, and once you play with one, it is easy to see why. Take it from a mild boost with a little warm edge to a full out '70s Marshall on 10, and it always stays amazingly natural and transparent. It always sounds good no matter where you set any of the controls. The EQ controls on these units are like no other we have come across. The highs are always pleasing and never spiky sounding, and the low end control is really warm, adding a Marshall low end thump that never gets boomy. I had high expectations when they announced the latest Xotic AC Comp because the "Big 3" (RC Booster, AC Booster and BB Preamp) cover so many bases. I'm here to deliver the great news...the AC Booster now has a big brother! And this Comp means business.
This new AC-Comp features a three-way switch for dialing in compression, a deeper amount of low end thump on tap if needed, plus two internal switches for additional fine tuning. The normal setting on the top mounted three-way switch gives you classic AC Booster style overdrive. The middle setting has very little compression, giving you tight aggressive punch with a bit more grit on the top end. Great for fast, articulate rhythm playing! This position cleans up extremely well with your guitar's volume too. The final setting, simply titled "comp" gives you a great, smooth compressed overdrive. Similar to the stock AC Booster, but with more gain and saturation. Dig in for those swampy Billy Gibbons harmonics!

The very cool Xotic EP Booster takes a cue from the way Page, Hendrix and others utilized their Echoplexes as a preamp and gives you incredible full fidelity clean boost in a tiny package - 3.5" by 1.5" inches! This is the perfect way to fatten up your sound without really altering it. Even turned way down, this really expands your frequency. It's true bypass switching, takes a 9V battery but can also use an optional AC adaptor (VDC-18VDC neg. tip). We got these in about an hour ago and already two of our staff are purchasing them after a cursory run though. This uses a low impedance output, and gives you up to +20dB of boost with multi-dimensional, shimmering highs and lows. Now that we've all had a chance to put it through the paces, I'm sold on it. A few of us have already bought one...let me tell you why! We plugged this Grosh Electrajet Special Limited Edition into a Dr. Z MAZ 18 NR for a run. With the amp set on the verge of breakup, this pedal helps it soar into overdrive in a very sweet way. It's super transparent and gives a nice 'expanded' quality to your sound...not just louder. All of the feel and tone you have with your rig is enhanced. You may even want to leave this pedal on at all times! The internal dips switches are very cool too and help you dial in the right amount of high/low end boost when you kick it on. I plugged this Xotic Custom Shop BBP MB with a Dr. Z Prescription Jr. combo and a Grosh Electrajet Custom w/P-90s for a whirl. This version of the BB allowed me to dial in my tone perfectly. Everything from a rich, full and gainy Neal Schon sound to a less gainy slightly mid-scooped SRV-ish vibe. I could definitely use this as a main overdrive unit on my board...plenty of gain. Plus, the Xotic effects are dead quiet...couple this with an AC Booster and you're talking huge, complex overdrive. When dialed in appropriately, I could even see this Xotic Custom Shop BBP MB being an ideal clean boost. I'm going to have to get one of these...you should too!

The Xotic Robotalk 2 sports two individual envelope filter channels. Each channel is independently voiced and can be preset for different playing styles; slow acoustic-like attack,percussive, and many more. Blend each channel together for additional tone, or use the internal dip switch to customize your sounds appropriately. The Xotic RC Booster is an incredibly transparent boost pedal that delivers the sweetest natural gain. This makes any amp sound better. It seems to open everything up to the point of not wanting to turn it off. Many pros use this pedal at the end of their effects chain, restoring clarity and adding drive, and they never switch it off. This is not a full blown overdrive, though with the gain cranked, it delivers a nice warm edge.

This Xotic BB Preamp is extremely versatile. It can rock really hard, harder than the AC Booster, but it can also clean up to give you a more bluesy overdrive as well.
This is another outstanding pedal from the Xotic folks. These pedals have become the house favs here. Incredibly natural and transparent with EQ like no others out there. It's capable of a 30dB+ clean boost with an adjustable 15dB two band active EQ which adds a wide range of harmonic content to your ideal sound. The BB also utilizes a pre-gain stage which allows the pedal to go from a very pristine clean to a very smooth, compressed, overdriven sound.
The Xotic BB Preamp also features true bypass for eliminating any signal interference when switched off, and is hand wired and hand crafted in the U.S.A. Can be used with AC adaptor (optional) or 9V Battery.
