You try hundreds of guitars or basses attempting to find "the right one", and then you need to plug into something, right? - preferably, the best amp that you can afford whether you are a professional or a beginner. We carry a wide variety of amps from the simple solid state practice amp to the very best in hand-built tube amplification.
Our employees have owned or tried virtually every brand that has ever been on the market (some of us collect them!). Some are great, and some have been a disaster. When we decide to stock a particular amp or manufacturer, we rigorously judge whether or not we would take it on a gig or a recording session. Whether it's a tube, digital modeling, or solid-state amp, it has to pass our tests of reliability, value, and most of all, TONE! - yes, even the practice amps! If it doesn't, we don't stock it. It's that simple.
This Fender Excelsior Pawn Shop Special Tube Amp is a real hit out of the ballpark for Fender. It's phenomenally cool! A retro designed 13 watt tube amp with a 15" Special Design speaker and that great tube sound - at an incredible price. We could hardly believe it so we took one apart to have a peek inside at the innards and it's great. This is simple, yet versatile, powerful and inexpensive for all that you get. The guitar, mic and accordion inputs each have individually optimized circuitry and work great with the guitar depending on exactly what you're after. You've got Volume and Tremolo with a Bright/Dark switch. It's all powered by two 6V6 output tubes and two 12AX7 preamp tubes.
"Meld an old Gibson amp with an Alamo and that'll give you some idea of the old school tone from this great Excelsior. Fender hit the bullseye on this one. It's a great amp period, but at this price, it's ridiculous. Capable of nice stage volume but not overly loud. It cleans up really nicely with a bit of chime when you back off the guitar too. The Excelsior is a great amp!" - John F.

This used Dr. Z Jaz 20/40 112 Combo is in Mint condition, and ready to rock. Here in Blonde, toting a cool vintage vibe, and loaded with a 12" Celestion G12H speaker, this combo sounds amazing. Extremely versatile, it captures the best qualities from some of Dr. Z's most popular models. A 1/2 power switch (much like Dr. Z's Remedy amp) lets you choose between 20 or 40 watts, with no loss of tone or response, only less volume. This along with its sensitive controls allow you to dial in the sound you're looking for in any size room or venue. It has full-bias modulating output tube tremolo, which provides more depth and swell than any added trem pedal, and can be adjusted via Speed and Depth controls. Lush, tube driven reverb is also inside, and both the verb and tremolo can be activated by the included external footswitch.
On the backside of the Jaz you have an effects loop, speaker outputs (4,8, and 16), and the half power switch. Dial up everything from a sparkling, rich clean, to low-wattage tube grit with what we think is one of the coolest amps Dr. Z has ever made - the Dr. Z Jaz 20/40 112 Combo. $1,500. Consignment item. Sorry, shipping not included. USED
Now standard with EQ bypass, the Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR 112 Amp is incredible. Using the included footswitch you can remove the tone stack (bass, mid, and treble controls) from the amp's circuit, opening up the sound, adding gain, and making the already rich tones even thicker. When the EQ is bypassed the 'Cut' knob will still operate as normal, allowing you to dial in the perfect amount of bite - and we do mean bite - that you're looking for. It's the perfect lead boost.
No reverb here (hence the 'NR') decreases compression and bumps up the gain, giving you singing, chimey highs and a raw, powerful low end. Its Celestion G12H30 speaker gives it a touch of British voicing and adds to its vintage attitude. Great for blues, country, and pop, but for pure rock... this amp shines. 18 watts but extremely powerful, this Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR 112 Amp is great for the stage, the studio, or practice.

This used Marshall JCM 900 4501 with 1912 Extension Cab is a sweet set up. The 900 is a 50 watt all tube Dual Reverb 112 with a Celestion G12T-75 speaker. Has channel switching plus channels share EQ. You've got reverb controls for each channel too plus an effects loop. The second preamp volume actually not only goes to 11, it goes to 20 - how cool is that Nigel? Built like bomb shelter and fits perfectly on top of the 1912 Extension cab too. Excellent condition. Serial# 933094701. $600. Consignment item, sorry shipping not included. USED
This Analog Outfitters Organic 15 Amp Head is constructed out of salvaged materials, including an original Hammond organ chassis and transformer. They added a preamp and tone-stack loosely based on a Blackface Deluxe Reverb. It has 2 12AX7 preamp tubes and EL84 power tubes and a 5Y3 rectifier and this guy will knock your socks off. Don't let the 15 watts throw you. The sound here is a rich and warm tone plus you get true power-amp distortion at a manageable volume or crank it up for a more raw vintage tone.
"This is really, really loud and extremely touch responsive like Analog's other amp the Sarge - I was really surprised! The EQ is extremely interactive, plus this looks really cool as it's made out of reused materials. Very cool head!" - Eric P.
