You try hundreds of guitars or basses attempting to find "the right one", and then you need to plug into something, right? - preferably, the best amp that you can afford whether you are a professional or a beginner. We carry a wide variety of amps from the simple solid state practice amp to the very best in hand-built tube amplification.
Our employees have owned or tried virtually every brand that has ever been on the market (some of us collect them!). Some are great, and some have been a disaster. When we decide to stock a particular amp or manufacturer, we rigorously judge whether or not we would take it on a gig or a recording session. Whether it's a tube, digital modeling, or solid-state amp, it has to pass our tests of reliability, value, and most of all, TONE! - yes, even the practice amps! If it doesn't, we don't stock it. It's that simple.

The Divided By Thirteen CJ 11 really captures their big box head and cab tones in a nice little 1-12 package. The Genz Benz Shenandoah 60LT is an incredible, lightweight (29 pounds!) acoustic amp. Genz Benz pared down the weight without losing warm, rich tones. This offers 60 watts of power and projects warm, articulate tone from two 6-1/2 inch speakers and studio-quality stereo 24-bit digital effects processor with 16 preset programs. The preamp has two separate channels, each with a 3-band EQ with sweepable mid-range for flexible feedback control. The preamp offers one XLR mic input (with phantom power) and two 1/4 inch instrument inputs which mix together for additional versatility for use with multiple players.
The cabinet is built for playing out - in addition to being super lightweight, the stage monitor shape allows the amp to sit upright or tilt back at a 30-degree angle and also enhances the tone of the amp. Tilting the cabinet back helps to reduce boomy low frequencies and augments the projection of the mid frequencies.

This circuit gets mistaken for a Marshall stack every time it gets cranked up and recorded! Neil Young and Billy Gibbons have long favored this amp's mean bark when recording for its ferocious tone. Greasy harmonics come slithering out of the single 12" speaker when cranked and it cleans up oh so nicely when the volume control of your guitar is backed off. This Wright Amp has to be the most perfectly simple use of a pair of 6V6 tubes ever, showing why it is one of the best sounding power tubes for guitar amps. Sparkling clean tones at low volumes and a lovely crunch when cranked. As with all tweed era circuits, the controls are highly interactive, so have fun with the "hidden" tones this amp is capable of! David Eden's XLT series never ceases to amaze me. Their 10s have more thump while maintaining a very fast, warm response stereotypical of high end speakers. The head itself is ingenious, offering a solid state preamp or a tube preamp for more depth of tone constructing the ability to have unique equalizing capabilities. This David Eden Metro dual channel hybrid combo amp is a bass player's dream. Also comes with a road case. -Matt. USED

Jason was walking around the store yesterday with it strapped on his back with a guitar strap like a troubadour. It's six watts, seven pounds and altogether too cool. Adaptor included. Using the classic setup of a quartet of EL84s biased close to true Class A at 30 watts, the Dr. Z Stang Ray tips its hat to classic British tones, but like all Dr.Z amps, has its own unique voice. The preamp uses an EF-86, and it has a 12AX7 phase inverter. Tone shaping is accomplished with Volume, Tone, and Cut controls, giving you the ability to dial up a warm tone, but with sweet 3k range brilliance for beautiful upper treble and nice low-midrange control. The output transformer was designed by Ken Fischer (Trainwreck), who also worked with Dr.Z on the Airbrake.

One 12" speaker, two knobs, ALL ROCK!! This amp is so cool it's ridiculous. Clean or dirty, this all tube, 18 watt power house will forever change your mind about channel switching, active EQ, dip switches and all the other bells and whistles other tube amp companies throw at you to convince you the tone of their amps is better than it really is. Perfect for club and studio use, the one tone knob is surprisingly versatile and this amp loves pedals.
