You try hundreds of guitars or basses attempting to find "the right one", and then you need to plug into something, right? - preferably, the best amp that you can afford whether you are a professional or a beginner. We carry a wide variety of amps from the simple solid state practice amp to the very best in hand-built tube amplification.
Our employees have owned or tried virtually every brand that has ever been on the market (some of us collect them!). Some are great, and some have been a disaster. When we decide to stock a particular amp or manufacturer, we rigorously judge whether or not we would take it on a gig or a recording session. Whether it's a tube, digital modeling, or solid-state amp, it has to pass our tests of reliability, value, and most of all, TONE! - yes, even the practice amps! If it doesn't, we don't stock it. It's that simple.
Simple and stunning, this Tungsten Buckwheat 112 Amp is an amazing combo that is extremely hard to come by. Only the ninth one ever made, it's a 30-watt powerhouse with a 12" Scumback H75 speaker. It has two distinct channels - a 'Moe' channel voiced for vintage single coil or P-90 pickups, and a 'Les' channel designed for guitars with humbuckers. Each with a Volume and Tone control, the differences in these channels are quickly noticeable, bringing more clarity to humbucking pickups and more highs and lows to single coils.
It has a slightly larger cabinet, a heavier magnet speaker, and more iron in the transformers than its little brother the Crema Wheat, but these additions don't make it unmanageable. It is a great amp for the stage or the practice room, and at only 35 lbs is very easy to transport. It comes with 6L6s, but you can swap power tubes and rectifiers without re-biasing. A rare combo worth every penny, this Tungsten Buckwheat 112 Amp looks great too.
"Phenomenal for performance or the studio. And at a great weight, it's 30 watts but still grab-and-go." - John F.

This Dr. Z Maz 8 210 Combo Amp gives you that great Maz 18 tone at a reduced wattage. This has 4 12AX7s and a 12AT7 preamp so you can run the gamut from the great cleans to full on rock at 8 watts without sacrificing tone. The single EL84 output section can be run in Pentode or Triode mode giving you real versatility. Pentode gives you the sonic signature of the Maz 18 with the chimey top end and sweet low end bloom all there, but at a significantly lower volume. Plenty of dynamic range for clean country picking to grinding riff rock bliss. You can even take it a step beyond with the footswitchable EQ bypass function for a great gain boost on effortless leads that will sustain for days.
The Maz 8 takes on a much different dialect in Triode mode with more of a vintage feel and sound - the volume level drops back and the tone fattens up making you think you plugged into a lost gem from the 1950s. Kicking on the EQ bypass in Triode mode will have you reaching for your slide. The back panel features a 4, 8, and 16 ohm speaker out. An effects loop and EQ bypass are standard, and the footswitch is included. Check out this Dr. Z video to experience all that this 8 can do. This Dr. Z Maz 8 210 Combo Amp is one of the best amps we've seen this year.

This a great deal on a used Dr.Z Z Best 212 Cab in Excellent Plus condition. It's a closed-back cab that'll blow your socks off. This has a Theile ported design, allowing you to dial in the full frequency range of the guitar. Low end is determined by the port thickness, Mid response by the shelf depth, and Top end by choice of speakers. Placed vertically, the this delivers a tuned focused sound, yet has the airy qualities associated with open back cabs. When placed horizontally, you get a bit more low end as the port is then coupled with the floor. This is a long throw cab that will get the sound to the back of the room. This is loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30 and Celestion G12H30. The Dr. Z Z Best 212 Cab is one of our store all-time favorites. $600. Consignment item, sorry shipping not included. USED
This Tungsten Cortez 112 Combo Amp is outstanding! This is versatile, incredibly well made, and really kills it with blues and distorted classic rock... dial back the volume and you've got nice yet edgy cleans...The design of this was based on the classic 5E3 design, with 6L6 tubes giving you 18 watts through a custom designed 12" Weber T12Q Alnico speaker. It includes a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes and 5Y3 rectifier, and because this amp is cathode biased, swapping power tubes is just a matter of plugging them in. No re-biasing is ever necessary. Likewise, the preamp section accepts 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AY7, 12AT7 and 5751 tubes, giving you a great deal of control over your tone.
"This Tungsten Cortez 112 Combo Amp gives you fantastic tweed deluxe tone at a great price. If you need more headroom just pop in a 6L6 - no biasing necessary. Incredibly well built and still quite light - makes for a great gig or studio amp." - John F.

The Good Dr. strikes again - just receive this Dr. Z EZG-50 Head. In the doc's own words, this is "My spin on the blackface reverb head that never was". This has a very definitive 6L6 clean sound, and whether you want a classic 'El Mocambo' tone, or a twang straight from Bakersfield, the EZG-50 will not disappoint. With a new 6L6 output transformer designed for Z Amps by Ken Fischer, this amp employs a very unique impedance not used by other American makers, and this difference is one of the key factors to the EZG-50s splendid sound. Also, NOS Allen Bradley carbon comp resistors are used in all critical tone positions of the EZG-50 circuit. These classic resistors lend a one-of-a-kind depth and warmth to this amp's tone.
The EZG-50 features a stunning, 2-knob all tube reverb. Capture a subtle echo at the back end of the note, to full-on surf using the Dwell and Mix controls. Further dial-in your sound with Treble, Mid, and Bass controls, as well as Pre and Post Master Volume knobs. 16, 8, and 4 ohm speaker outs accommodate any cabinet. With 2 knob reverb, a tube rectifier, and 50 Watts of clean power, this Dr. Z EZG-50 Head is the blackface head that never was - and one of our favorites from the Doc.
