You try hundreds of guitars or basses attempting to find "the right one", and then you need to plug into something, right? - preferably, the best amp that you can afford whether you are a professional or a beginner. We carry a wide variety of amps from the simple solid state practice amp to the very best in hand-built tube amplification.
Our employees have owned or tried virtually every brand that has ever been on the market (some of us collect them!). Some are great, and some have been a disaster. When we decide to stock a particular amp or manufacturer, we rigorously judge whether or not we would take it on a gig or a recording session. Whether it's a tube, digital modeling, or solid-state amp, it has to pass our tests of reliability, value, and most of all, TONE! - yes, even the practice amps! If it doesn't, we don't stock it. It's that simple.
This used Bogner 412 Cab embodies what a thunderous rockin' tone should be - bold, chunky bass response, alive with resonance, rich and woody, and so much more. Loaded with four 12" Vintage 30 speakers wired for 16 ohm impedance, this cabinet will not disappoint. It has a wicker grille cloth, with two metal side bar handles and removable casters for easy transport. Here in Very Good condition, it does have some wear, including some nicks in the tolex on the lower left side (see photos). Also, the bottom end of the 'g' on the Bogner face plate is missing, leading to its acquisition of a more humorous nickname around the store. Logo aside, this Bogner 412 Cab is amazing.

This Germino Lead 55LV Head w/ 212 Cab is a green machine! Rare to see, this Lead 55 is dressed in green, and what a look it is! Aside from its awesome aesthetic, this amp's true greatness lies in its tone. Together with the 212 cab which is loaded with two 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speakers, this amp is hands down one of our favorites.
It's a super tight and incredible sounding amp that takes you from a slightly crunchy clean to a smooth, thick lead with a simple turn of the volume knob. Classic dual EL-34 output, and it has the same lead circuit as the 1968/69 plexi 1987 model at its pinnacle. Check out Greg Germino himself rocking the 55 here, and even more 55LV demos and clips here. Untouchable! This Germino Lead 55LV Head w/ 212 Cab delivers 50 watts of classic tone in the way only Greg Germino can.

This Analog Outfitters Super Sarge Amp is AO's latest creation - a request from Wilco's Nels Cline is behind the Super which offers 35 watts and more headroom than the great 15 watt Sarge. This 'Ladies' Super is #02, the second made after their first one, which went to Nels Cline. The tone is similar to the Sarge with a little more grit and a lot more power. Amazing amp created in Chicago from repurposed materials including a Hammond organ output transformer, and old science equipment cases.
This is powered by 4 EL84 tubes, 2 12AX7 preamp tunes and a 5U4 rectifier. You've got Volume, Treble and Bass controls, and of course the lid slides right off if you want, or just lay it back. It's lightweight, built to last, and sounds incredible. Each Analog Outfitters Super Sarge Amp comes with a different faceplate - this looks to be a vintage 'Ladies' room sign in white, red and blue. Crank it up!

Fresh from the doc's lab is this Dr. Z M12 112 Combo Amp tailor made for pedals. This is loaded with 2 EL84 cathode biased output tubes, 1 EF86 and one 12 AX7 preamp tubes and a 5Y3 rectifier - housed in a sleek Z head. You've got 12 watts of power with clean headroom and plenty of tone.
"This M12 is absolutely incredible as a pedal platform. This is where it shines. There's definitely a hint of Prescription in this M12 too. It's not a particularly gainy amp, but does have a nice breakup around 7. Unlike the much louder Prescription and the ZWreck, the volume is still usable for most all live applications - not super quiet by any means, but not ear-splitting." - John F.
"This M12 is a pedal junkies dream amp. It absorbs any pedal's tone and sounds very natural. On the low input setting, the amp will not break up at all but if you want some dirt just switch to the hi input. Super simple to use, but like all Dr. Zs it has a complex and rich sound." - Eric P.

Here in black with an open back, it's loaded with the good doctor's own proprietary ten-inch speakers and as the doc says, "Big sound awaits. This Dr. Z 410 Cab can handle any head you put on it."

This Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior 112 Amp with Reverb is perfect for small clubs, or for larger venues when mic'd - you'll be surprised by the power, and big amp tone. Don't let 18 watts fool you, the definition and headroom on this Maz will knock your socks off. This is also a great amp for jazz players, whether you're looking to replace a small blackface amp or looking for an amp with enough complexity for fusion. The Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior 112 is versatile and gives you incredible power for a 112.
You've got Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, Reverb, Cut, and Master controls, with a 4,8, and 16 ohm speaker out on the back. An effects loop and Z's EQ bypass function too. The footswitchable EQ bypass gives you a perfect lead boost, effectively making this a 2 channel amp. This is all fueled by a pair of cathode biased EL84s and a 5AR4 rectifier, pushed through a Celestion G12H30 speaker.
Get great drive sounds at higher volumes or use the Lo input for cleaner humbucker sounds - with a master volume and full EQ, you can get just the tone you're after. The Doc's cut knob really brings new dimension to this too - producing a large variety of sounds to satisfy players using all guitars, for most every style of music. The Cut is best used after the EQ is set, just turn it up for some extra bite, or turn it down for a more vintage sound. No matter what your style of playing is, this Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior 112 Amp with Reverb delivers.

Fender has some sweet upgrades on one of the coolest, least expensive and most feature laden amps around - the Fender Mustang II v2 - now with new amp models including '57 Twin and my favorite, the '60s Thrift. You've got 40 watts of power here through a Fender Special Design 12" speaker, but that's just the beginning. 24 onboard presets, 17 Fender and other amp models, and an incredible array of effects. Big bonus - you've got USB here for recording with your own DAW plus you get Fender's great FUSE software, enabling you to get as creative as your imagination will allow. There's an AUX input so you can jam with your favorite songs or play into the wee hours of the morning using the headphone jack.
In addition to the classic effects like delay/echo, reverb, chorus and more, you now also have smart pitch shifting (!), Big Fuzz, Green Screamer and more. Even if the Mustang didn't have these cool and easy to use effects it would be a steal, but it's so rich with options, you won't want to put your guitar down for a minute. Super portable at just 24 pounds. This Fender Mustang II v2 is perfect for home practice, smaller gigs, as a killer starter amp for newer players, and as an all-in-one for the seasoned player.

One of favorite items is also available as a stand alone too - the Dr. Z Brake Lite Attenuator SA. This is the exact same innards as the installable version, but you can use it with any tube amp (up to 45 watts, 4,8, 16 ohm loads) whenever you want. Now you can insure your full-on sound at any volume -you're easily able to get the sound of your amp on 'eleven' at a volume you can play anywhere.
You can also run multiple cabs easily with the two speaker outputs here, wired in parallel. Set it on your amp, or wherever - it's got 4 half-inch rubber feet for good clearance and weighs a mere pound and a half. At the 0 setting it's fully bypassed and each click gives you more attenuation: 1=2dB, 2=5dB, 3=8dB, and 4=11dB. Note from the doc: Always use speaker cable to connect the Brake Lite SA to your speaker. When connecting a second cab you will be making a parallel load. Ex: a pair of 8 ohm cabs use the 4 ohm speaker out on your amp. Grab a high-quality Quantum SC12-3 Cable to go with and you're set, or the slightly thinner Quantum SC16-3 Cable. This Dr. Z Brake Lite Attenuator SA is a beautifully designed innovative piece of gear that makes life a little easier.

This Analog Outfitters Sarge Amp Head is one of the coolest amps we've had this year. Hand-wired from repurposed materials, the engine under the hood is taken from a Hammond Organ - one of the best output transformers ever made. The case housed scientific equipment for decades before the Analog Outfitter madmen got a hold of them and used them for rock, so there are some ready made scuffs on the outside. The case is lightweight, extremely portable, yet incredibly durable, and made from heavy-duty aluminum. The lid easily unlatches and slides off sideways. The faceplate is a vintage embossed tin sign - each is different, and this one is the 'Room For Rent'. AO carefully tweaked things to maximize tone and minimize unwanted hum and buzz and in doing so has created one amazing head that will seriously knock your socks off. Boss Flynn was so impressed he bought one for himself on the spot.
"This is killer. It has a throaty tone that can go from sweet to mean with ease. It's also amazingly touch sensitive. Definitely more like an old Train Wreck, but with only 15 watts so you can actually use it on stage. Unreal sustain as well that goes beautifully into harmonic feedback. Nuts!" - John F.
