This is very playable and has an exceptional dynamic range. If you've been thinking about trying Mando, this Gold Tone GM-50 mandolin might be the ticket - it's a great intro or back up mando that won't set you back at the bank, relatively speaking. This has a solid Spruce top with Maple laminate back and sides and a Maple neck. It's a 1 1/8" nutwidth on a Rosewood fingerboard. This Gold Tone GM-50 mandolin isn't fancy, but it plays well, looks good and we think it's a great value.

This Gibson F-12 Mandolin has had some repair work done. I would guess that it is late 60s as it has the inlaid script logo. It has no pickguard, the fingerboard tongue has been scalloped, the plastic point trim is somewhat deteriorated - as is common with nitrocellulose plastic. There's one nicely repaired top crack parallel to the treble F hole, nicely repaired headstock crack, and replaced tuners. This is a long list of minor issues, but I feel that it is a nice sounding, nice playing and structurally sound mandolin. -Jim Baggett Give Jim a call for further details at 1-800-747-9980. s/n: 968-301 USED
