You don't see a 1920s vintage Banjo Mandolin everyday! This has a Maple neck and Maple laminated pot, with a Fiberskyn head on a 10 9/16" rim. This was built very similarly to the Vegas from the same time period. This has new tuners and has been professionally refretted with modern, larger frets. New Price! This beautiful vintage 1927 Gibson F-2 mandolin is in Excellent original condition. We originally thought it to be a '25, but it's definitely a '27 - and in superb shape. The finish is bright and shiny, there are no cracks or separations. The frets are in excellent condition and the neck angle and playability are excellent. This is very playable and has an exceptional dynamic range. The original hard case is also in Excellent original condition with the exception of a new handle - the green velvet case lining is fresh and bright. A very nice example made by the famed arch top guitar builder John D'Angelico. This is a two point Lyon and Healy-style mandolin with the violin scroll peg head that D'Angelico used up until 1942, when he switched to a more guitar-style peg head. Serial number is 105. The condition is very good to excellent, with no major issues. Very minimal pick wear in the top, above the sound hole, and some minor touch-up on the side of the neck at the fingerboard joint.
