Pickups are at the heart of great electric and acoustic/electric tone. There are literally hundreds of pickup manufacturers out there claiming to have the "holy grail" when it comes to ultimate tone. Fortunately, we have selected a small but powerful group of pickup artisans who truly understand how to achieve the ultimate tone. These manufacturers have developed their product lines for real world applications through feedback from professionals and "at home" tone nuts alike. We always stock a large inventory, but if you are looking for that something special, feel free to call us with your request. We love making customers happy.
The K&K Pure Maccaferri is a twin-head piezo transducer for internal installation in Maccaferri guitars. This pickup sounds very natural and is, in our opinion, the most true-sounding solution to amplifying Maccaferri guitars on the market today.

The adjustable boost on this L.R. Baggs Venue DI is very useful and the notch filter, which eliminates feedback, is noticeably helpful while maintaining solid tone. The built-in tuner makes this unit an all-in-one D.I. perfect for any acoustic instrument player. - Matthew K.
Got to use this for an all acoustic set. It's really exceptional. I had been using the Paracoustic DI, which till now was the best unit I've found. The Venue really smooths out the harsh qualities that come with acoustic pickups in general. I basically plugged it in, set it flat, ran the DI to the house and another line to a Fishman Loudbox 100. I did fiddle with the EQ a bit which is really nice and gradual in response. I'm sure if I had more time I could have dialed in an even better sound, but I must say at flat response it was very enjoyable.
Two really nice surprises on this... First, the tuner is deadly accurate. I was using a Collings OM with a Fishman Natural and the tuner is so easy to see, and spot on. Secondly, the Boost switch sounds fantastic. In fact, I left the boost on and used my vol pedal to pull is back a bit, but still have room to get over the top if necessary. All-in-all this is a really nice unit and considering the tuner and boost, I think it's a great deal. It's also built like a tank. I just ordered my own. - John F.
Make the very most of your true sound at any venue. This is so much more than a DI box and will easily become an essential element for any live acoustic player. You've got a 5-band adjustable EQ, a boost footswitch, a chromatic tuner, with mute, plus a notch filter and ground loop eliminator to cut out feedback and noise. There's even an auxiliary send/return effects loop. Did we mention how well built this is? Check out Lloyd Baggs giving this a real roadworthy test - running it over with a truck! This L.R. Baggs Venue DI really is innovative, designed to withstand real road use, and lets your true sound come through beautifully and easily.

This Linday Fralin-SP43 Tele Set is a very hot pick up that has a warm and powerful tone. These pick ups have a very punchy sound, and they are great at cutting through the mix of other instruments.

I've had a chance to really give the new Grosh Pickups a good workout and I must say, although not surprised in the least, these are amazing. He's been working on these for quite a while now, knowing that there's strong competition for this market and just another pickup would not be worth the effort. We were fortunate enough to receive the first guitar with a set a Grosh's own pickups, which were the 60s Fat Set. We also had a chance to compare them with Fralin Blues Specials, which I love. I was instantly impressed with the Grosh pickups. These were true "sweet strat" with a really beautiful bloom in the low end. They were instantly addicting. Every one of our guys loved them.
Now, the question of the day...Are they better than the Fralins? No. Are they equal? Defintely!
Some will lean one way, others another, but I can't imagine anyone not loving either. They both have their subtleties- not one pickup is every player's choice, but I must say these Grosh pickups are worth every penny. I am installing a set in one of my instruments immediately. These are certain to become a standard in replacement pickups.
Remember, these are the same pickups you can get in an Electrajet Standard with S/S/S - and that makes the EJ Standard the best value in the market right now. Don also got the packaging right on these pickups - you feel like you're getting a piece of fine jewelry.

The Fralin Unbucker Set, here in black, cemented Lindy Fralin's rep as a master of pickups. Lindy winds the screw coil stronger than the slug coil, making the pickup sound a little more single coil, but the best reason behind this is for coil tapping. When tapped, the stronger coil is active as opposed to half a pickup. Brilliant.
