Check out this Collings video that gives you a unique look behind-the-scenes of this master builder's company.
Our relationship with Bill Collings, both professionally and personally, began with us becoming one of the first dealers for his acoustic guitars and 2013 continues our unique relationship with them - our own Jim Baggett collaborated with Bill Collings on their new CJ35 guitars. We are proud to be a Collings dealer, and we are known for having the best selection in the country.
We frequently field questions about the great necks on Collings and thought we'd post more info here on Collings Neck Profiles. As always, feel free to give us a ring or send an email for more information.

This Collings CW Clarence White acoustic will blow you away. Built in '95, this is one of the original CW acoustics built exclusively for John Holman. It has been extremely well taken care of, and is in Excellent Plus/Near Mint condition. The Brazilian Rosewood was not graded on these early guitars, but this is as perfect as Brazilian gets, AAA+. Its Adirondack top is medium to wide grain - an exceptional example. It has a fossilized ivory nut and saddle (see photos), and the peghead overlay is a distinct, dark Ebony. This is truly a fantastic guitar with looks to match. The large soundhole, perfect wood selection, and comfortable neck and action make this a guitar that begs to be played while its power and tone will keep you coming back for more. This Collings CW Clarence White is as good as it gets. This CW comes with a Mint condition Mark Leaf case. Serial #1736.

This Collings CJ35 is a masterpiece. Our first official 'CJ35' model from Collings, the design for this guitar was created from the collaboration of our very own Jim Baggett and Bill Collings, based on some of Jim's vintage Gibson J-35s. The Adirondack straight (non scalloped) three tone bar bracing and abbreviated tongue brace, combined with its Mahogany back and sides really make this instrument sing. It has great, focused projection and powerful bass response. The slightly shorter scale and vintage inspired neck profile make it a real joy to play, and its select Sitka Spruce top is set off beautifully by a tiger striped pickguard.
It has a 1 3/4" nutwidth and 2 5/16" saddle spacing. Gorgeous ivoroid binding makes for a very intriguing look on the top (see photos), and other appointments included a 'haircut' headstock, ivoroid tuner buttons, and a bone cut-through saddle. This Collings CJ G Maple SB Custom is truly unique and is a great example of the special work this great Austin builder does. One of the things that sets this amazing instrument apart from other CJs is the Adirondack straight (non-scalloped) bracing with three transverse braces giving the top more compression resulting in exceptional classic tone. The top here is German Spruce with a hand applied color, which has been paired beautifully with shaded, figured Maple back and sides - simply stunning. This is all set off beautifully with ivoroid binding and every detail we've come to expect from Collings - MOM inlay, Gold Waverly tuners and more. This is a full scale exceptional player with a 1 3/4" nutwidth and 2 1/4" string spacing.
"I'm usually not a big Maple fan in general, but of the first three custom CJs we did, this is surprisingly my absolute favorite. Incredibly clear, but rich sounding guitar." - John F.

This Collings D2H AVN Custom acoustic is tonally spectacular with a real presence and warmth, and as with every guitar from this great Texas builder, it's a real looker too. Several of our favorite custom features are here including an Adirondack top, Adirondack bracing and no tongue brace which we feel really make this an A++ instrument with just that much more resonance. Gorgeous Rosewood back and sides, ivoroid binding, an exotic stained Ebony veneer headstock overlay and all the perfect details we love from Collings are here too. Waverly tuners, Ebony fretboard and bridge, plus this has a 1 3/4" nutwidth and a Vintage Now neck giving you a slightly larger neck than a standard (non-vintage), but much more comfortable than the largest vintage Martin necks. The shape is slightly rounder in the lower position and moves towards a modified V shape as you go up the neck. Along with the 2 5/16" string spacing, this is just a great, great player with a phenomenal sound. This dread comes with a Collings hard case.
