This Martin D-18 Authentic is considered by many players, collectors and aficionados to be the best new guitar since the real golden era of the 1930s. I can tell you from personal experience that the Martin Co. put out a lot of effort to make this model true to the name "Authentic". They studied and measured fine old 1936 and 37 D-18s, sent out prototypes to dealers and players and eventually came up with a new guitar that feels, looks and sounds like what I can imagine a new D-18 sounded like when grandpa brought one home in 1937. This particular guitar was purchased new from Mass Street by a customer who has owned several 30s and earlier guitars. It has been played, but remains in Near Mint condition, with only very minor signs of play wear. This guitar was picked out of a group of three that we had at the time, and returned to us for sale sounding even more impressive due to a few years of playing. - Jim B. It includes a black Geib style case for $4800. Near Mint gray exterior Calton case included for $5300 total. Consignment item, sorry no free shipping. USED
Absolutely spectacular Martin 75th Anniversary D-28. This has a tremendous, big and rich sound from the Adirondack Spruce top and Madagascar Rosewood back and sides. This beauty marks the 75th anniversary of the D-28's debut and includes some very nice detailing and construction including the aging toner, the Butterbean tuners, the Golden Era diamond and square inlays and a label inside signed 'C.F. Martin IV'. The headstock also includes commemorative marking. More than the details, this is a cannon with a comfortable 1 3/4" nut. The wood combination here is sonically and visually fantastic.
