Fishman Pickups

Fishman has been making some of the most-used acoustic instrument pickups for over 25 years (they're almost as old as us!). The people at Fishman put the needs of the acoustic musician first, designing their products to do exactly what you need, enhancing your plugged-in experience without taking away from what you do unplugged. The Natural series piezo pickups have been the go-to standard at Mass Street Music for years, and their preamps and amplifiers perfectly compliment our instruments. Check out what we have, and give us a ring at 1-800-747-9980 if you have questions or if you're looking for something that's not listed. Remember too, if you need professional installation, our repair shop is exceptionally experienced. Looking for great acoustic effects pedals or the Fishman Aura? Check out our Fishman effects page.

Fishman Matrix Infinity Acoustic Pickup

Fishman Acoustic Instrument Pickups - Matrix Infinity Acoustic Pickup

The Matrix line of pickups are some of the most easy to use in any situation and this newer Fishman Matrix Infinity Acoustic Pickup is one of our favorites. Originally marketed by Martin as the Thinline Gold and Thinline Gold Plus Pickups, the Fishman Matrix Natural 1 and Natural 2 (respectively) were the go-to systems for many gigging musicians for 15 years. Recently, Fishman has combined them with a switchable voicing design into the next generation Matrix Infinity model and added some features as well. The new Infinity (we use the narrow) is an active (i.e. battery operated) pickup that uses an under saddle piezo element run through a jack mounted preamp. This new version has soundhole accessible volume and tone thumbwheel controls with the Flat/Bass voicing switch tucked just behind them. A battery indicator light will fill your guitar with a faint red glow when the battery is low. We especially recommend this pickup to customers who need a lot of headroom for high volume levels without feedback.

Installation is easy if you already have an existing pickup with the same inputs. If your instrument does not already have the required holes for the Fishman Matrix Infinity Acoustic Pickup, we highly recommend professional installation for those who have not done this procedure before. This requires a reamed endpin and a hole in the saddle slot; as well as mounting of the controls, cables and battery. Our Repair Shop does this installation for about $90.

Check out our own Mike Horan comparing several of our favorite acoustic pickups, including this Matrix Infinity. Questions about which pickup is right for your style and playing situation? Just give us a call at 800-747-9980.
