This National Koa Resonator Uke is a unique Concert uke with style. Ornately bound with a rope-style binding on the top, back, and fretboard, it's made of Figured Koa and has a 5.875" hand-spun resonator. It has a figured Mahogany neck, a Rosewood fretboard with ivoroid dots, and a bone nut. A balanced sound, with a great resophonic tone, it even has a tortoise and ivoroid capped headstock (see photo). No detail was overlooked on this one. This vintage Banjo Uke is in Excellent condition and plays wonderfully thanks to some recent upgrades. Though we don't know the manufacturer or the year it was made (we think it was built sometime in the 30s), what we do know is that it sounds great. The perfect amount of plunk in this one. It has a new skin head, a new tailpiece, and a new inset-bone bridge. It's also been fitted with Grover Deluxe tuners to keep you in tune, making this a vintage dandy that you'll have no problems playing. No case. With a beautiful marbled grain, this Kala KA-ASLAC Concert Uke has solid Lacewood back and sides. It has a solid Sitka Spruce top, an Ebony saddle, and an 1 3/8" Ebony nut. The combination of quality, solid wood components give this uke a rich sound and excellent sustain. It has a Rosewood fretboard with 'Swan' inlays at the 5th, 7th, 10th, and 12th frets, and die-cast chrome tuners with black buttons. This vintage Gibson Uke-1 Soprano ukulele is in good condition and is a great player! It does have some surface scratches (see photos) but nothing serious, and it is structurally perfect.
This is crafted from beautiful Mahogany, with 20 1/2" total length with 9 5/16" body measuring 6 1/2" at the lower bout. We can't date this precisely but Jim is pretty certain it's a '40s model. This Kala KA-SC Concert Uke has a solid Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides for a really rich, warm sound and great projection. Gorgeous white/black combo binding on this too.
