The Lead 55 head and 212 cab, pictured together here, are available separately - the head is $2100, the cab is $700. They sure do make a nice pair though. The Lead 55 is a very tight and incredible sounding amplifier. Goes from a slightly crunchy clean to a thick smooth lead tone with just a twist of your guitar's volume control. This is the sound of the famed 1969 plexi 1987 model at its very best. The Lead 55 uses a classic dual EL-34 output section, solid state rectifier and "lead" circuit values. And it's orange!
The Fillmore Classic is an accurate replica of the 100 watt Super Lead/Super Bass amps originally made from early to mid 1967. This is the classic early 100 watt EL-34 sound with great touch response and feel combined with full semi-crunchy to full crunch tones that are not overly saturated. For a live "Crossroads" or "Sunshine of your Love" tone this is the amp as long as you are willing to deal with the volume and air movement that go along with this splendid tone. The Fillmore could also be thought of as a 100 watt version of the Club 40 and would be equally content running at high volumes or as a foundation for pedals. These never stay around long enough for us to spend a ton of quality time with them, but when they are here, we grab every chance we can to crank it up! New 2 x 12 extension cabs are made in the same Style I Bluesbreaker look as the 2 X 12 combo cabinet with a top valance panel. The dimensions are 28" X 22" X 12". Cabs come stock open-back with a full closed back panel as an option. Grille cloth is original style, salt and pepper basketweave, obtained from the original supplier in the UK that Marshall used in the late 60's and early 70's. This baby is loaded with Greg Germino's personal set of Celestion Heritage 25 watt speakers. You can be sure this cab will blow your pant legs around! All cabinets are made from Baltic Birch ply with finger jointed corners for strength. Baffles and back panels are made of Baltic Birch as well. Stainless steel hardware is used throughout in assembly.
An early style circuit voiced for a flat frequency response, GZ-34 rectifier and output transformer with 3.4K primary for EL-34's make the Club 40 a direct descendant to the early JTM-50. The early plexi circuit as used in the Classic 45 is carried over in the Club 40. The output transformer is a Drake replica unit specifically designed for EL-34's however will also work with various other tubes such as 6L6, 5881 and KT-66's.

Aluminum chassis, hand drilled epoxy turret board construction, totally hand assembled and wired to perfection. Following closely in the footsteps of the standard Lead 55, the LV model uses a different power transformer from Heyboer which is wound to give lower voltages at the output stage. Wow! What can we say about this amp? We've always loved the Classic 45, but even in Greg's ultra-precise attempt to nail the JTM 45 sound, one critical element was always missing. This amp is loaded with the Celestion Heritage 20 watt Greenbacks, a dead on repro of true Pre-Rola Celestion Greenbacks. These speakers are the last piece of the puzzle and this amp flat out rocks! The perfect medium wattage Marshall repro!
Reverse engineered from classic mid '60's Marshall 2 x 12" cabinets. Void free, finger-jointed birch plywood cabinet loaded with Celestion Greenbacks. Wired in series for a 16 ohm load. Looks and sounds great!!
Straight solid state rectified Lead 55 chassis. Absolutely the finest Marshall JMP "Plexi" re-issue on the market today. It's all here, Hendrix, Van Halen, ZZ Top, Allman Bros., Eric Johnson, etc. The split cathode late 60's front end coupled with a solid state rectified EL34 power section has plenty of vintage gain on tap and mucho headroom, reminiscent of the DR504 HIWATT tops. It just begs to be opened up!

Dead mint Germino 55 watt head. This is the straight Lead 55. The solid state rectified dual EL34 power section, coupled with the vintage Late 60's split cathode front end gives up classic Marshall Plexi tones that will easily hang with most makers 100 watt tops. We liken the Lead 55 as a cross between a late 60's Plexi JMP top married to a HIWATT DR504. It has the creaminess and the "brown sound" of an old Marshall, yet due to this amps custom trannies, audiophile grade filtering and Greg's incredible attention to detail, the headroom of a more overbuilt British head, hence the HIWATT comparison. The touch sensitivity is outstanding and the dynamics are very powerful, yet smooth. This is, in our opinion, the very finest hand wired Marshall "Plexi" repro on the market, with added definition, clarity and superior build quality. USED
