"I have always heard about this Zvex Woolly Mammoth bass fuzz pedal being popular among bassists, but holy cow, this pedal sounded absolutely sick with a Grosh ElectraJet and a Dr. Z head! Heavy saturation with an almost octave-like effect that never lags behind. Zvex has designed an outstanding pedal." - Matthew K.
"This is a little monster and so much fun to use! When used on bass, I was able to call up some cool synth-like tones. If you're a fan of the band Muse, you'll know what I'm talking about. On guitar I was able to dial in nice, sloppy fuzz tones that made me think of The Black Keys and White Stripes. The pinch knob helps keep things under control and not too wild, however if that's what you're looking for, you can fully unleash the Mammoth! This pedal is a total blast to play." - Brian S.
One of the coolest pedals we've come across, this Mammoth has tremendous bottom end and a beautiful harmonic structure that sounds blistering with a guitar too. The harmonic structure can be radically altered by using the "PINCH" knob. It adjusts the pulse width of the waveform. The "WOOL" knob adjusts the amount of 'fur' around the note, and the "EQ" knob tilts the spectral response. Finally, the "OUT" knob on the Zvex Woolly Mammoth is designed for smooth repeatable level settings. This pedal is truly incredible, and it comes with a custom paint job! Check out this cool Woolly Mammoth video and see how it takes your bass and guitar playing to another dimension.

What a great distortion pedal! This Zvex Box of Metal features a 3 band EQ, which if you are like me, is essential to dialing perfect distortion. - Matt K.
This pedal is an aggressive high-gain pedal with a highly-effective built-in switchable gate which dramatically reduces noise and unwanted feedback. Its gain and tonal characteristics are somewhat similar to high-gain tube amplifiers that have been the staple of hard rock and metal sounds since the 80's. On the right of the pedal, there is a true- bypass switch with an indicator LED to bypass the entire effect. On the left of the pedal is a gate switch which is only effective when the pedal is on (the gate cannot be used separately.) When the gate's LED (on the left side of the pedal) is ON, the gate will be active whenever the pedal is turned on. The gate is very useful for cleaning up any noise between palm-muted chords and lead phrases, but may be switched off to initiate feedback or to stretch out soloed notes that are fading into noise. Switching off and on the gate is silent so the gating action of the pedal can instantly be changed during any part of the performance to fluidly integrate soloing and palm-muted chords. For some serious metal distortion the Zvex Box of Metal is the way to go.

The Zvex Box of Rock is one serious drive pedal, in which a super fat, Marshall-y drive side teams up with an independent, usable boost to cause some serious sonic damage. - Jason J.
This pedal is ZVex Effect's first "distortion" pedal, highly specialized to simulate the "this amp goes to 11" sound of a classic Marshall JTM45 non-master-volume amplifier. You may use this pedal effectively with many different amplifiers, but to get the sound the engineers at Zvex heard when they designed it, try it through a Marshall at least once. You may use your guitar's volume control to adjust for the exact amount of distortion you need, all the way down to very clean and clear with most drive settings. You will notice the words "distortron engine" on the Vexter version of this pedal (no, that's not a misprint) on the pedal. In fact, the Zvex Box of Rock isn't just an engine, it's a Hemi.

The Zvex Mastotron is a new, heavy silicon fuzz design that includes a couple of unusual features such as, source impedance control, subs control, and pulse width control. It works equally well with the bass Relax/Push knob. This knob introduces source impedance to the signal going into the pedal. When fully up, the signal goes in raw, when turned down, source impedance is added as needed to “soften” the input for active pickups. The Relax/Push knob is just one of the options that this pedal offers. It's also equipped with Fuzz, Pulse Width Control, Tone, Volume, and Sub knobs that make the Zvex Mastotron as versatile as pedals get.

The Zvex Distortron is the gifted little sister to the Z.Vex “Box of Rock”. It is highly specialized to simulate the “everything on 10” sound of a classic Marshall JTM45 non-master-volume amplifier. You may use the Zvex Distortron effectively with many different amplifiers, but to get the sound the Zvex engineers heard when they designed it, try it through an old-school non-master volume Marshall at least once.
