This used Deering Sierra Banjo is in Very Good condition and plays well. An American-made instrument, it has a Mahogany neck with a slender, low profile shape for fast, accurate fingering. It has a bound Mahogany resonator behind its three-ply Rock Maple rim and 11" head. Natural Ebony fingerboard, planetary tuners, geared 5th string peg. This Deering Sierra Banjo comes with its original hard shell case, which has seen some wear (see photo), but does the job. USED

This used Deering Vega #2 Banjo is in Excellent condition. An 11" open-back, it has a warm, balanced tone and is very comfortable to play. Its beautiful Curly Maple neck has a light amber stain and a scooped Ebony fretboard. A notched brass tension hoop, brass tubaphone tone ring, and a precision 3-ply Maple rim make up its resonant pot. Nice opportunity to save hundreds on this used Deering Boston 6-String B6 Banjo. It's in Excellent Plus condition and has really nice clarity and a crisp sound. Perfect for recording, plus it's just a whole lot of fun to play! Crafted from tropical American Mahogany, this has really good sustain and a beautiful full tone, with a very playable, just slightly slim neck with a 1 3/4" nutwidth. Great detailing from the Ebony fretboard to the custom tailpiece. Keith Urban is a fan of this model and it's easy to see why once you pick it up. Great for flatpicking or fingerpicking, this has found fans among guitar players and banjo enthusiasts both. It's currently tuned like a guitar, but other tunings are great on this too. Made with the same materials, design, and features as the prized bluegrass banjos of the '30s, this used Deering Golden Era Banjo sounds fantastic. It has an 11" Maple rim, Zinc flange, Bell Bronze tone ring, and a Curly Maple resonator. The result: that cherished bluegrass sound, with crisp highs, strong bass notes, and amazing projection. It has a pre-war appearance as well, with 'Hearts and Flowers' Mother of Pearl inlays and white binding with white/black trim on the neck and resonator.
Deering's True Tone tailpiece adds to its punch, and its more traditional, full neck shape plays extremely well. In Excellent condition, it has a few minor nicks on the lower part of the neck (see photo). It has also had Keith tuners installed on the G and B strings. This used Deering John Hartford Banjo is a 5-string beauty. Made with a Hartford Grenadillo tone ring, it has a sweet, full-bodied tone you would expect from a wood ring. Surprisingly, its specially tapered resonator makes its volume comparable to a lot of bluegrass banjos with bronze tone rings. It has a Curly Maple neck and resonator, and a 3-ply Maple rim. A one-piece cast Zinc flange, brass-notched tension hoop, and a true tone tailpiece help add a sweet high end to its rich bass response and exceptional resonance.
Not only does this banjo sound wonderful, but it looks great with Gothic Steamboat inlays. This instrument is in Excellent condition, and plays extremely well. It has had a Shubb 5th string capo added, and has some minor nicks on the neck and back (see photos). A great value, this Deering John Hartford Banjo comes with its original hard case. USED

This used Deering Deluxe Banjo has a wonderful tone with real clarity and brightness. This is in Very Good condition and features a Mahogany neck with a Mahogany resonator with a gloss finish. There is a little play wear...minor fret wear and the head is worn, but overall a great player with a long life ahead. Quite beautiful, with the earlier diamond fretboard inlays on the Ebony fretboard, an 11" head, and a cast bronze tone ring. Hard case included with this Deering Deluxe Banjo. $1,095. Nice deal on this used Deering Intermediate Banjo. This was one of Deering's early models and is a real workhorse. This is in Very Good Plus condition and does have a bit of what we like to call gradoo on the back resonator (see photo), but no structural issues here at all. This is a great player and good deal. This Deering Sierra Maple banjo is outstanding - expertly crafted, tremendous, bright, crisp sound, great playability. This features a bronze tone ring and a three ply Rock Maple Rim with a satin finished, stained Maple neck and back. The Maple here gives you a little brighter tone and clearer note definition and great sustain. It's a one piece cast resonator flange, and has a two way adjustable truss rod in the neck. One of Deering's best and one of favorites. This Deering Sierra Maple banjo comes with a hard case as well.
