Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR 112 Amp

Dr. Z Amps - Maz 18 Junior NR 112 Amp

Now standard with EQ bypass, the Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR 112 Amp is incredible. Using the included footswitch you can remove the tone stack (bass, mid, and treble controls) from the amp's circuit, opening up the sound, adding gain, and making the already rich tones even thicker. When the EQ is bypassed the 'Cut' knob will still operate as normal, allowing you to dial in the perfect amount of bite - and we do mean bite - that you're looking for. It's the perfect lead boost.

No reverb here (hence the 'NR') decreases compression and bumps up the gain, giving you singing, chimey highs and a raw, powerful low end. Its Celestion G12H30 speaker gives it a touch of British voicing and adds to its vintage attitude. Great for blues, country, and pop, but for pure rock... this amp shines. 18 watts but extremely powerful, this Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR 112 Amp is great for the stage, the studio, or practice.

Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR

Dr. Z Amps - Maz 18 Junior NR

This Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR, (now standard with EQ bypass and effects loop!) gives you more singing gain and less compression without the 'verb, making it ideal for club gigs. You can easily go from clean to edgy vintage, pulling incredible tones from both single coils and humbuckers. Don't let the 18 watts fool you - pair this with the right cab and you're good to go.

You've got Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, Master, and the the good doctor's Cut control which is basically a tone knob for the output tubes. The back panel features a 4, 8 and 16 ohm speaker out. You now also have an effects loop and footswitchable EQ bypass for a great lead boost. The Maz is powered by a pair of cathode biased EL84s, has three 12AX7s in the front end, and a 5AR4 (GZ34) rectifier. Seriously amazing tone and versatility with this Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR. Thanks Doc.

Dr. Z Route 66 Head

Dr. Z Amps - Route 66 Head

Based around the incredible KT-66 tube, the Dr. Z Route 66 Head never ceases to impress us. Who knew a single-channel, three-knob head could be so versatile? This amp is downright amazing. With seemingly endless sustain yet defined clarity, the tones of this amp are incredibly rich. So good, it's hard to describe the experience when playing through this amp, and in live settings, the Route 66 takes on a whole new level of tonal bliss.

At 32 watts, it's loaded with two KT-66 output tubes, one EF86 and one 12AX7 for the preamp, and a GZ43 rectifier. The result is a combination that provides extremely tight bass response and focused distortion, and truly sings when driven hard. But don't discount its versatility, it still sounds wonderful at lower volumes too. One of our favorite single-channel amps, hands down. A great value, this used Dr. Z Route 66 Head is in Mint condition. USED

Dr. Z Maz 8 112 Combo

Dr. Z Amps - Maz 8 112 Combo

More on the way soon - arriving November! New from the good doctor, this Dr. Z Maz 8 112 Combo is an 8-watt powerhouse. Based on the Maz 18 platform, this amplifier captures the subtle nuances and rich Z tones of its big brother, but at a significantly lower volume. It's loaded with everything you need including an effects loop, an EQ bypass via included footswitch, 4, 8, and 16 ohm speaker outputs, and an amazingly affective Pentode/Triode switch. When you run this amp in Triode mode, you get a more vintage tone - the volume backs off a little and the tone becomes thick and rich. Select Pentode and you get extreme dynamic range with a shining top end and lush bass response, perfect for clean picking or grinding rock. Plenty of front panel controls including the versatile 'Cut' knob make this amp easy to dial up the sound you're looking for. Its power and size are perfect for practice, but don't underestimate its sonic prowess, this amp will work great for the performing musician as well. Here in black, this Dr. Z Maz 8 112 Combo is a masterpiece.

"Real cool. This amp is one of the first successful efforts for a low wattage combo to sound like a real amp. It doesn't over-compress, it doesn't get fuzzy, and it's extremely dynamic. The Pentode/Triode switch really changes the color of the sound, and it could be a great performance amp for a lot of different styles." - John F.

Dr. Z Maz 38 Senior 212

Dr. Z Guitar Amps - Maz 38 Senior 212 ON SALE!

PRICE DROP - This is a brand new, old stock (2009) Maz 38 Senior 212. The new Zs include EQ Bypass and an effects loop but this earlier version is absolutely killer and a great way to get your Z while saving some real dough. This retailed for more than $2100.

This Z takes to Strats equally as well as LP style guitars and has really become a benchmark for fans of Vox and Fender amps. From stage to studio, you'll get the perfect tone from this Z. It's all here, Voxey chime, Blackface sparkle and woody British overdrive when pushed hard. Takes pedals extremely well. The good doctor incorporated the phase inverter design from the MAZ 18 Jr, to the the MAZ 38 Sr., so it uses no negative feedback - giving you more thickness, more harmonic content, and more sustain. He also replaced the presence control with the extremely useful "Cut" control. Tones with this Dr. Z Maz 38 Senior 212 are clear, crisp, and extremely responsive to the player's nuances - as it should be.

Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR with EQ Bypass

Dr. Z Amps - Maz 18 Junior NR with EQ Bypass ON SALE!

On Sale! We're making way for the Doc's new Maz amps for 2011. This one here is a 2010, but brand new, AND does have the EQ Mod that is now standard on the Doc's new Maz amps. Great way to save some dough on an incredible amp.

This Dr. Z Maz 18 NR 112 Combo with EQ Bypass just kills. The Maz 18 is already incredible, but this EQ mod can turn it into a beast with one stomp of the footswitch.

"This amp turns into a complete monster with this mod engaged! I plugged in the Nash TC-63 and gave it a good spin. In the neck position using the humbucker with the volume on the amp pegged and the master volume at around 9:00, I was pulling out Brian May Vox-y tones that I couldn't believe. Seriously. The end solo on "We Will Rock You"...it's in this amp! At other settings with various guitars (Strats and a Gibson SG w/P-90s) I was getting incredible British crunch sounds making me want to whip out Bad Company riffs. A very cool and extremely useful mod on an already killer amp." - Brian S., MSM Gearhead

The cool new mod of the EQ Bypass allows you to remove the tone stack (bass, mid and treble controls) from the amp's circuit which opens the amp up tremendously - giving it more gain and a thicker tone quality. The "Cut" knob will still operate as normal, allowing you to dial in your desired amount of bite -and we do mean BITE. We love this amp for all around tube tone plus this new, versatile EQ Bypass. Great for pop, blues, hard rock, country, but for pure rock...this is it. This model has already found its way onto all kinds of stages and into many working musicians' amp arsenals, now it's exponentially better. This Dr. Z Maz 18 NR 112 Combo with EQ Bypass comes loaded with a Celestion G-12H30 for that great British voice. With footswitch.

Dr. Z Monza 110

Dr. Z Guitar Amps - Monza 110

Bold, red, and ready to rock, this Dr. Z Monza 110 is fantastic. Housing a Red Fang Alnico 10 Speaker made by Eminence, this 20 watt combo packs quite a punch. A "gain and sustain monster," this portable combo will surprise you, with a sound much bigger than its size.

"Using a Grosh EJ Custom I was pulling out classic Marshall inspired tones a la Tres Hombres and Deguello. This amp cleans up nicely too! Crank the drive knob a bit more and the volume knob brings you closer to VH land. In the neck position, you can achieve never ending sustain! In the bridge position, hit an open G and gorgeous overtones pop, while feedback starts peeking through beautifully. Very rich in harmonics. Finally, the tone knob allows you to dial-in the perfect amount of bite. Simple design...complex tones...this Dr. Z Monza 110 combo amp is just what I like!!! - Brian S., MSM Gearhead
