Dr. Z Remedy Head - Black

Dr. Z Guitar Amps - Remedy Head - Black

Those who seek the full on assault and sweet crunch of the Plexi style circuit will find just the ticket with this Dr. Z Remedy Head. Using four 6V6s and coming in at 40 watts you'll have all the spit and growl on hand for burning your guitar at Monterey or playing High Voltage rock and roll.

This features a one-of-a-kind half-power circuit. Flip the switch on the rear panel and go from 40 watts to 20 watts with no alteration to your sound. This isn’t your grandpa’s half power switch. You’ll experience the same sonic joy and touch sensitive response at either setting.

The front panel features a blended volume configuration - both the High and Normal volumes are at your disposal. You can dial in clear top end and full bodied roundness for any size room. The back panel includes 4, 8, and 16 ohm speaker outs, the full/half power switch, and a convenience AC outlet. The Dr. Z Remedy Head pairs up nicely with any of the Dr. Z extension cabs.

Dr. Z Air Brake

Dr. Z Guitar Amps - Air Brake

The Dr. Z Air Brake is hands down, one of the best power attenuators on the market today. Very neutral and true to the original tone of the amp. Simple and easy to use. Everybody with a loud tube amp should have one! At a gig, the Z Air Brake is can help limit your overall dB level at any time during a performance, allowing you to manage your amp's overall volume without varying from your amp's favorite settings. When you're at home, it can help lower volume while still allowing for full output tube distortion. The Dr. Z Air Brake even has a "bedroom" level control that, when selected, will allow for fine adjustment and maximum attenuation down to 1 watt (with amps less than 100 watts.) USED

Dr. Z Z-Verb

Dr. Z Amps - Z-Verb

I plugged this Dr. Z Z-Verb into a Dr. Z Prescription Junior Head this afternoon and was very impressed with how versatile this unit really is! When a lot of folks think of spring reverb, they think of surf music or old school country. Which, by the way, the Z-Verb nails to a T! I expected it to do that, though. What I didn't expect is how usable it is for adding a cushy pad below leads or jazz comping. It's one of those "it's there, but it's not there" sounds that I love, similar to using a long delay with the mix turned down, but way cooler. Kicking it on will make your overdriven leads sound extremely smooth and, for me, make me play a bit differently, using the reverb unit more as an instrument than an effect. I'll be adding one of these to my Christmas list. Wait, it's only April? Sheesh. - Brian S.

This pairs beautifully with Z Cabs, but also other cabs. Tube driven, pure Z sound! Weighs a mere 18 pounds and really delivers. This Dr. Z Z-Verb comes with an on/off footswitch as well. $575 Consignment item, sorry no free shipping. USED

Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR

Dr. Z Amps - Maz 18 Junior NR

The used, mint condition Dr. Z Maz 18 Junior NR gives you more singing gain and less compression than the reverb version, making it the perfect club amp. You can dial in clean, chimey tones or raw vintage drive. This delivers rich, singing tones from single coils and sweet British crunch from humbuckers. Coupled with the right cab, the Maz 18 NR can hang on any large club stage. This may only be 18 watts, but it's extremely potent with killer Z tone.

The front panel features Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, Master, and the the good doctor's versatile Cut control. Think of the Cut as a tone knob for the output tubes. The back panel features a 4 and 8 ohm speaker out. An effects loop is also standard. The Dr. Z Maz Junior 18 NR is powered by a pair of cathode biased EL84s, has three 12AX7s in the front end, and a 5AR4 rectifier. With 18 watts at your finger tips you can get that perfect blend of front end grind and output tube sustain. $1,050 Consignment item, sorry no free shipping. USED

Dr. Z EZG 50

Dr. Z Guitar Amps - EZG 50

The Good Dr. Z has done it again with this Dr. Z EZG 50. In the doc's own words, this is "My spin on the blackface reverb head that never was". The EZG-50 has a very definitive 6L6 clean sound. Whether you are lusting after the classic “El Mocambo” tone, looking to surf the big waves, or want twang straight out of Bakersfield, the EZG-50 will satisfy the most discriminating blackface tone seeker. The seed of the amp came from a new 6L6 output transformer designed for Z Amps by Ken Fischer. The output transformer has a very unique impedance not used by other American amp makers. This is one of the key factors to the EZG-50s sound.

NOS Allen Bradley carbon comp resistors are used in all critical tone positions of the EZG-50 circuit. These classic resistors add a warmth and depth to the tone that only they can give. The EZG-50 features a 2-knob all tube reverb. The Dwell and Mix controls give you full authority over your reverb needs. Anything from a subtle tail on the note to a full-on surf assault is at your command. You also get a full EQ and a Pre and Post master volume. Around back you’ll find 16, 8, and 4 ohm speaker outs to accommodate any cabinet. With 50 watts of clean power, 2 knob reverb, and a tube rectifier, the Dr. Z EZG-50 is the blackface head that never was...a la Dr Z!

Dr. Z Monza Head

Dr. Z Guitar Amps - Monza Head

Brian cranked this brand new Dr. Z Monza head up with a Z Best cab and it was incredible! The doc has been calling this a 'gain and sustain monster' and it's so true. Compact in size, this head gives the power and feel of an amp much, much bigger. You've got Volume, Drive and Tone, with the volume controlling the overall output while the drive gives you more depth and sustain as you crank it. 2 EL84s, 2 12AX7s, a 5AR4 rectifier - this Dr. Z Monza head gives you the tone and response of much bigger rig in a smaller 23 pound head.

Dr. Z Monza 110

Dr. Z Guitar Amps - Monza 110

The new Dr. Z Monza 110 combo amp just hit our doorstep this morning! After watching YouTube clips for the past two weeks of Buddy Whittington playing this new amp nicknamed "Billy in a box" (Dr. Z's prototype, now the Monza), I just couldn't wait to plug into one for myself. Using a Grosh EJ Custom outfitted with dual P-90s, I was pulling out classic Marshall inspired tones a la Tres Hombres and Deguello. This amp cleans up nicely too! Crank the drive knob a bit more and the volume up brings you closer to VH land. In the neck position, you can achieve never ending sustain!! In the bridge position, hit an open G and gorgeous overtones pop and and feedback starts peeking through beautifully. Very rich in harmonics. Finally, the tone knob allows you to adjust in the right perfect amount of bite. Simple design...complex tones...this Dr. Z Monza 110 combo amp is just what I like!!! - Brian S.
