Gretsch Synchromatic 100

Gretsch Archtop Acoustics - Synchromatic 100

Gretsch introduced the Synchromatic 100 in 1939 and that's exactly what it cost--$100. Nowadays, they're a little bit more, but this old beauty dates to the earliest years of production. As best we can determine, it was built sometime between 1939 and 1946. As you'd expect, it has some finish wear and a few dings here and there. But here's the good news: The frets look virtually new with no wear to speak of, the neck is straight and true, and the action is low and easy. This Gretsch has many stories to tell; Its deco-inspired good looks and warm, round tone exude big-band-era class. Just look at the inlays and headstock detail. This one's a true classic. USED

Gretsch 1976 Nashville

Gretsch Semi-Hollow Electrics - 1976 Nashville

This 1976 Gretsch Nashville is remarkably well-preserved for its age. Wearing the distinctive deco-inspired pickguard common to Baldwin-era Gretsches, this one has real f-holes and a beautiful cherry finish. The Filtertrons are a bit hotter than those from the previous decade, but they still twang and chime. This one's in excellent condition all around. With case. USED

Gretsch 1964 Nashville

Gretsch Semi-Hollow Electrics - 1964 Nashville

Why buy a reissue when you can get the real thing? Here's a beaut...a 1964 Gretsch Nashville in (what else?) Gretsch Orange. The F-holes are painted, the Filtertrons and sweet and clear, and the Bigsby is smooth as butter. Like many 60's Gretsches, this one has some binding issues, but nothing that affects playability. A great player--and a real '64--for just a little more than a reissue. With case. USED

Gretsch 1958 Country Club

Gretsch Semi-Hollow Electrics - 1958 Country Club

With the Country Club, Gretsch sought to appeal to the traditionalists who might otherwise have chosen a Gibson. While Gretsch didn't ultimately win the battle of the jazz boxes, they did manage to create a unique guitar that does things that PAF-equipped Gibsons can't. For instance, it can twang--especially on the bridge pickup. And with both pickups running, the Country Club sound has a crisp airiness that is distinctly "Gretsch". The neck pickup has all the thick jazz and blues tones you'd expect, but with a little extra clarity when compared with a PAF. 1958 was the first year that the Country Club came equipped with Filtertons, and the first year for the ebony fretboard. This one is in excellent condition for the player or collector. With case. USED
